Division I -
National Player of the Year - Katie Reinprecht, Princeton
Reinprecht led the Tigers to their first national
title, anchoring the Tigers with a combination of her stick skills,
mature play, and consistency throughout the season. She was solid all
season long, and her play elevated the rest of the Tiger players.
Defensive MVP - Caitlin Van
Sickle, North Carolina
Van Sickle was a force from the backfield for the
Tar Heels, leading them to the ACC title and a berth in the title game
for a fourth consecutive year. The ACC Defensive Player of the Year
helped the Tar Heels to the nation's second-best scoring defense
despite facing one of the nation's toughest schedules.
Offensive MVP -
Kat Sharkey, Princeton
Sharkey had an explosive season for the Tigers,
leading the nation in scoring despite facing the nation's toughest
schedule. Her 38 goals ranks in the top-15 all-time in Division I, and
her 85 points ranks in the top-20 all-time. The Ivy League Offensive
Player of the Year was part of over a third of Princeton's goals,
including three in the championship weekend alone.
Rookie of the
Year - Teresa Benvenuti, Princeton
Benvenuti was an anchor for the Tigers
throughout the season, stepping into a significant role for Princeton
all over the field. She played crucial minutes in both the offense and
defense for the national champions.
Coach of the
Year - Andrew Griffiths, Lafayette
Griffiths mentored the Leopards to
a top-10 ranking and an at-large berth in the NCAA Championships, the
first one in school history. Lafayette had a seven-game improvment from
2011, including wins over two conference champions.

National Player of the Year - Michele Schrift, West Chester
Schrift spearheaded a WCU attack that was
relentless all season long,
averaging almost four goals a game en
route to their second consecutive national title. The PSAC West Player
of the Year, Schrift scored 25 goals while
facing the nation's toughest schedule. She had a point in 20 of WCU's
22 games, scoring a goal in 18 of them.
Defensive MVP - Kelsi
Lykens, West Chester
Lykens powered the Golden Rams to their second
consecutive national title by marshalling a backfield that led
the nation in scoring defense, including 12 shutouts, despite facing
the nation's toughest schedule. Lykens was equally as efficient
at the other end of the field, ranking second on the team in scoring
while leading the team in assists.

Slippery Rock
Childress played a significant role in
The Rock's turnaround season, helping SRU
advance to the PSAC quarterfinals and a berth in the nation's top-10
for most of the season.

Millersville
Behrens mentored the
Marauders to a place in the PSAC Final and a consistent presence in the
national scene, doubling the team's win total from the previous season,
including wins over perennial powers Shippensburg and Bloomsburg.

Player of the
Year - Lisa Charney, Mary
Washington
Charney led the Eagles to the national semifinals
and a top-five ranking, excelling for UMW at both ends of the field.
She led Mary Washington in scoring and defensive saves while guiding
the Eagles to a CAC title, a 20-win season, and the right to host an
NCAA regional.
Defensive MVP - Megan
Bosland, Montclair State
Bosland backstopped the Red Hawks to their first
NJAC title, their first appearance in the national finals, and a
top-five ranking with a national-leading 85% save percentage while
facing the eighth-toughest schedule in the nation. She ranked second in
the nation in goals-against average with a .67 GAA.
Offensive
MVP - Lauren Greer, Middlebury
Greer
was an offensive juggernaut for the Panthers, leading them to a
national-best 18-1 record, notching almost 5 points a game. Middlebury
won the NESCAC title and forged an undefeated regular season en route
to the top seed in the NCAA Championships and the top RPI in the
nation.
Rookie
of the
Year - Michelle Relin, Rochester
Relin led the Yellow Jackets to their
first national tournament, leading Rochester in scoring, including a
team-best five game-winning goals. Two of those goals came in the NCAA
tournament, the first time the Yellow Jackets had won a game in
nationals. Relin helped Rochester to a five-game improvement and a
top-30 RPI, an improvement of 26 spots.
Coach
of the
Year - Shanna Vitale, New Paltz
Vitale mentored the Hawks to a
school-record 16-5 with their first-ever SUNYAC title and berth in the
NCAA Championships. Vitale coached the SUNYAC Player of the Year, a
first for New Paltz, and led the Hawks to twice as many wins in 2012 as
in 2011.

National Player of the Year - Katelyn Falgowski, North Carolina
Falgowski was a leader all over the field for the
national runners-up, helping UNC rank second nationally in scoring
margin despite facing the nation's toughest schedule. The Pan American
gold medalist led the Tar Heels to the ACC title and the national
championship game, setting the UNC career record for assists along the
way.
Defensive MVP - Caitlin Van Sickle, North Carolina
The ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Van Sickle helped
the Tar Heels lead the nation in scoring defense while facing the
nation's toughest schedule. A consistent presence in the defense for
UNC, Van Sickle could also be counted on to jump start the attack from
the back.
Offensive MVP - Emma
Batten, Old Dominion
Batten was a dynamo for the Lady Monarchs this season,
earning CAA Player of the Year honors en route to the CAA title and a
semifinal finish for the squad. She ranked in the top-10 nationally in
scoring despite facing the nation's second-toughest schedule.
Rookie of
the Year - Kelsey Smither, Old Dominion
Smither helped the Lady Monarchs back to the NCAA
semifinals, earning CAA Rookie of the Year honors along the way. She
led ODU in assists and helped the Lady Monarchs rank among the national
leaders in scoring margin while facing the nation's second-toughest
schedule.
Coach of the
Year - Pam Bustin, Duke
Bustin invigorated a Duke squad that had posted two
consecutive seasons below .500 and turned in an NCAA quarterfinal
berth, an ACC finals berth, and a top-10 RPI as part of a 14-8 record.
The ACC Coach of the Year mentored the Blue Devils to three top-10 wins
this season.

National Player of the Year - April Daugherty, Merrimack
Daugherty was
the catalyst for the Warriors' phenomenal season, notching 50 points
while helping Merrimack take the regular season title in the NE-10 and
a berth in the NCAA semifinals. The NE-10 Player of the Year helped the
Warriors forge a 17-game win streak during the season.
Defensive MVP - Kayla Littig,
UMass-Lowell
Littig was
the centerpiece of a tough defensive unit that allowed opponents only
10 shots a game, helping the RiverHawks to a top-four ranking in goals
allowed per game. Littig helped UMass-Lowell win the NE-10 tournament
title and advance to the national championship game.
Offensive MVP - Carlee Dragon, C. W. Post
Dragon was a
part of 55% of her team's goals in 2011, helping the Pioneers to the
semifinals of the PSAC tournament and a consistent presence in the
rankings. She averaged just under three points a game and ranked second
nationally in goals and points per game.
Rookie of
the Year - Rachel Dickinson,
Millersville
Dickinson
played a significant role for the Marauders this season, stepping in
and helping Millersville rank in the top-seven nationally in scoring
defense while facing the second-toughest schedule in the nation. She
also led the team in scoring.
Coach of the
Year - Anne Rounce, Merrimack
Rounce led
the Warriors to the best season in school history, earning a berth in
the national semifinals one year after an 8-11 season. Merrimack was
ranked in the top-four in 2011 and boasted an eight-game improvement
over last year.

Year - Lauren Greer, Middlebury

nation's toughest schedule. Her 86 points on the season ranks fourth
all-time for a single-season in Division III history and helped the
Panthers reach the title game. The NESCAC Player of the Year, Greer's
35 goals ranks in the top-10 for a single season in history.
Defensive MVP - Alex Okuniewicz, TCNJ
Okuniewicz was stellar for the Lions' run to the national championship
this season, helping TCNJ rank in the top-five nationally in scoring
defense while facing the nation's second-toughest schedule. The NJAC
Defensive Player of the Year, Okuniewicz helped the Lions allow less
than a goal per game.
Offensive MVP - Greer, Middlebury
Rookie of
the Year - Rachel
Tannenbaum, Amherst
Tannenbaum backstopped Amherst to
an NCAA berth in the quarterfinals, posting a blistering 90.1%
save percentage on the season. Amherst was the No. 2 seed in the NESCAC
tournament and was ranked in the top-five this season, a new program
high, thanks to a tough rookie who allowed only 14 goals all season and
ranked in the top-six in goals-against average while facing one of the
nation's toughest schedules.
Coach of the
Year - Missy Mariano, Franklin & Marshall
Mariano took the Diplomats to
their first NCAA berth since 1992, winning the Centennial Conference
regular season along the way. F&M improved from 10-7 last season to
17-4 in 2011 while facing a significantly harder schedule.
