Division I -

Player of the Year - Rachel Dawson, UNC

Dawson was effective in both ends of the field, organizing a defense that ranked No. 1 in the nation while also leading the Heels in goals, helping UNC to an undefeated season against the fourth-toughest schedule in the nation.

Rookie of the Year - Katie O'Donnell, Maryland

O'Donnell picked up at the collegiate level as if she had been playing internationally for years, leading the nation in scoring.

Coach of the Year - Justine Sowry, Massachusetts

Sowry led the Minutewomen back into the NCAA Championships after UMass failed to qualify for the A10 Tournament last season. Engineering a six-and-one-half game turnaround from 2007, Sowry led Massachusetts to the A10 title and a berth in the playoffs.

Player of the Year - Jamie Vanartsdalen, Bloomsburg

Vanartsdalen led the Huskies to back-to-back titles, set the national record for points (89) and goals (35) in a season--and repeated as the National Player of the Year.

Rookie of the Year - Amanda Nann, C. W. Post

Nann helped the Pioneers to their finest season in school history with a 16-4 record and a bid to the NCAA Championships, all while  leading all rookies nationally in scoring with  19 goals and five assists.

Coach of the Year - Raenee Savin, C. W. Post

Savin led the Pioneers back to the NCAA Championships after posting a 16-3 regular season record; C. W. Post was ranked as the No. 1 team in the north for the majority of the season.

Division III -

Player of the Year - Lindsay McNamara, Bowdoin

McNamara capped off her season by leading the Polar Bears to the national title with a record-setting performance in the NCAA Championships. The NESCAC Player of the Year, McNamara helped Bowdoin go undefeated against the nation's third-toughest schedule.

Rookie of the Year - Ingrid Oelschlager, Bowdoin

The NESCAC Rookie of the Year, Oelschlager ranked second on the team in scoring to McNamara and was a consistent threat all season long, helping the Polar Bears finish undefeated, including the NCAA title.

Coach of the Year - Nicky Pearson, Bowdoin

Pearson guided the Polar Bears to the first national title in school history with a phenomenal 20-0 record, including a 76-6 goal differential. Going into the title game, Bowdoin had allowed only three goals the entire season, something every other school had given up in at least one game.

Players of the Week

Nov 12, 2007

Division I - Jen Long, Penn State

Long anchored a strong Nittany Lion squad that advanced to the NCAA semifinals with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over UVa in the first round before upsetting host Maryland 1-0 in the quarterfinals. Long came off the bench in the second half to rally PSU from 0-1 to up 3-1 against UVa before helping the Nittany Lions shut down one of the most prolific offenses in the game.

Rookie of the Week: Dolores de Rooij, James Madison

The rookie from James Madison helped the Dukes come from behind to defeat Duke 5-4 in the first round of the NCAA Championships with a two-goal, one-assist performance.

Division III - Lacey Farrell, Middlebury

Farrell helped the Panthers return to the NCAA semifinals with a strong 3-0 week that included a pair of upsets over Messiah and TCNJ. She started the week off with a pair of goals against Maine-Farmington before notching the game-winning assist in overtime against Messiah. Farrell assisted on both goals as Middlebury defeated host TCNJ to advance to the national semifinals.

Rookie of the Week: Kat Simoes, St. Joseph's College (Maine)

Simoes helped the Monks advance to the ECAC finals for the first time in school history with a pair of wins. In the opening round against Wheaton, the rookie goalkeeper made five saves in regulation and then two in the strokeoff to lead the Monks to victory. In the semifinals, Simoes posted a shutout against Plymouth State and then allowed only one goal in the title game.

Division I - Caroline Blaum, Iowa

Blaum led the Hawkeyes to the Big Ten title with a strong weekend as Iowa upset both Michigan State and Michigan en route to the automatic berth. After scoring the game-winner in overtime as the Hawks avenged a loss to Michigan State, Blaum notched two assists in the win over Michigan for the championship.

Rookie of the Week: Katelyn Falgowski, North Carolina

Falgowski helped the Tar Heels stay undefeated as UNC won the ACC title. The freshman contributed a goal and an assist as the Heels defeated Virginia and Wake Forest.

Division I - Christina Boarman, Towson

Needing a pair of victories to advance to the CAA Tournament, Towson turned to Boarman, who helped the Tigers with a two-goal, three-assist weekend.

Rookie of the Week: Emily Cummings, Wake Forest

Cummings notched a goal and an assist to help the Demon Deacons defeat No. 14 Boston College to secure the No. 3 seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament.

Casanta scored the only two goals for Wittenberg on the week, but they were game-winners that propelled the Tigers to the top seed in the NCAC Tournament.

Division I - Katie Semanoff, Connecticut

Semanoff scored twice, including one goal in the first minute of play, to help UConn defeat Boston University as the Huskies defeated a pair of ranked teams on the week. Connecticut followed up the BU win with a victory over league foe Syracuse.

Rookie of the Week: Loran Hatch, Old Dominion

Hatch helped the Lady Monarchs claim first place in the CAA with a key 3-1 road win at James Madison in which she scored twice in a 90-second span. ODU wrapped up the regular season title with an overtime win against VCU.

Davies led the Lady Raiders to a sweep of three of the top five teams in the nation, including triumphs over No. 1 IUP and No. 2 Bloomsburg. She had the game winner in both PSAC games, notching two goals and an assist against Bloomsburg before scoring the game-winner in overtime against IUP.

Rookie of the Week: Katie Enaire, UMass-Lowell

Enaire helped the River Hawks go 3-0 on the week, including wins against second-seeded Bentley (3-0) and fourth-seeded Stonehill (3-2 ot). The rookie scored three goals, including two against Bentley, and added a goal against Franklin Pierce. Her assist with less than five minutes to go in the game against Stonehill started a 3-0 run that helped Lowell clinch the top seed.

Stetson was a key part of the Saints' 3-0 week with wins over two ranked teams, notching a defensive save in each game. She assisted on one of the goals in the 4-3 win over then-No. 7 Middlebury and scored the game-tying goal at Union.

Rookie of the Week: Meg Danielson, St. Lawrence

Danielson powered the Saints to a 3-0 week, starting with an upset of Middlebury in which she notched the game-winner. She notched the assist on the game-winner in the overtime win at Union and then scored the opening goal in the upset of Skidmore the next day.

Division I - Janneke van Leeuwen, Maryland

Van Leeuwen notched a goal and an assist as the Terrapins came from behind to defeat Old Dominion and then added three goals and two assists in a 7-0 win over Delaware.

Rookie of the Week: Alex Swayze, West Chester

Swayze scored three goals on the week, including two as the Golden Rams defeated Richmond 4-2. The win halted a 44-game winning streak in the conference. The rookie then added the opening goal as West Chester defeated Saint Louis in overtime.

Nann had a pair of game-winning goals on the week, including the 2-1 upset of Stonehill in which she scored the opener. Nann also scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over Philadelphia.

Division III - Nicole Bomberger, Lebanon Valley

Bomberger was a key part of the Dutchmen's 3-0 record this week, including a 4-2 defeat of William Smith. Bomberger helped LVC allow only two goals in three games, while at the other end of the field she contributed heavily as well. Bomberger had three assists in the win over Gwynedd-Mercy and scored the third goal against William Smith before assisting on the fourth.

Rookie of the Week: Kelsey Evans, Nazareth

Evans backstopped the Golden Flyers to three wins on the week, posting a 1.30 GAA and an 87.1% save percentage as Naz defeated Hamilton, Ithaca and Union on the week.

Enaire helped the River Hawks go 2-0 last week, scoring four goals as UML defeated Bryant 3-2 and Merrimack 8-3. She scored a pair of goals in both games.

Lacerra started the week off with a goal 55 seconds into the TCCC game against Endicott that stood up as the game-winner before finishing off the week with a hat trick against Westfield State as the Bison went  2-0.

Division I - Marian Dickinson, Duke

The junior from Duke had a pair of two-goal games over nationally-ranked opponents last week, helping the Blue Devils to go 2-0. Against then-No. 9 Boston College, Dickinson had the final two goals in a 3-2 victory. Against then-No. 10 Boston University, Dickinson again notched the final two scores, including the game-winner in overtime in a 3-2 triumph.

Rookie of the Week: Maggie Befort, Syracuse

The freshman for the Orange had two two-goal performances for Syracuse, notching a pair in the BIG EAST win over Georgetown 8-1 before scoring twice to upset American 3-1.

Macy scored twice and added an assist as the River Hawks went 2-0 on the week.

Division III - Jane Kelleher, Springfield

Kelleher helped the Pride go 3-0 on the week, including wins over two top-15 teams. Against No. 14 Williams, Kelleher's second goal of the game tied the game at 2, setting the stage for a 3-2 overtime victory. Division I - Allie Lokey, Temple

Lokey was a part of five of Temple's six goals on the weekend, scoring both goals in the 2-1 double-overtime victory over Drexel, and assisting on both goals in the 2-1 overtime victory over Vermont. She added a goal in the 2-0 win against Lafayette.

Co-Rookie of the Week: Katie O'Donnell, Maryland

O'Donnell earned her third national award as she helped the top-ranked Terrapins to two top-ten wins. Against American she notched the opening goal and assisted on the fourth goal as Maryland defeated then-No.8 American 4-0. A couple days later she added two goals as the Terps knocked off then-No. 6 Wake Forest 3-2.

Co-Rookie of the Week: Meredith Way, Michigan

Way helped Michigan break into the top ten with a pair of upsets. She opened up the weekend with an assist on the game-winning goal in overtime as U-M upset then-No. 3 Iowa 3-2 as the Wolverines rallied from 0-2. On Sunday she scored the game-winner in the 1-0 upset of then-No. 7 Penn State.

She was also a part of the defense that allowed a total of two shots combined in the second half of both games.

Infante was the cog in Maryland's repeating as NCAA Champion. The ACC Defensive Player of the Year for a second consecutive season, Infante still ranked second on the team in scoring and could be counted on to play whatever role the Terps needed her to play.

Rookie of the Year - Meghan Bain, James Madison

The CAA Rookie of the Year led the Dukes in scoring and also ranked second in the nation in scoring among all rookies. She tied for the national lead with nine game-winning goals and helped the Dukes return to the NCAA Championships after winning the CAA title.

Coach of the Year - Michele Madison, Virginia

Madison led the Cavaliers back into the nation's elite, posting a 14-8 record against the nation's fifth-toughest schedule. Virginia advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals and posted wins over three conference champions along the way.

Sutherland, the Centennial Conference Player of the Year, led the Bears to their first NCAA field hockey crown. The sophomore led UC in scoring and helped Ursinus to capture both the Centennial and NCAA titles as the Bears ranked in the top 12 nationally in scoring offense and defense.

Rookie of the Year - Allie Weir, Lynchburg

Weir ranked among the national leaders in scoring all season long in her rookie campaign and helped the Hornets move back into the top-20 and the NCAA tournament. The ODAC Rookie of the Year, Weir ranked second in the nation with 29 goals, including four game-winners.

Coach of the Year - Carrie Moura, Christopher Newport

Moura led the Captains to their first-ever NCAA tournament bid, top-20 ranking, and NCAA win as CNU compiled a 14-4 record against the nation's seventh-toughest schedule. Christopher Newport upset three-time defending NCAA Champion Salisbury in the NCAA Championships, advancing to the NCAA quarterfinals.

Pfeiffer led the Hawkeyes to their second Big ten Championship with her second two-goal performance in the tournament. Pfeiffer had two goals to lead the Hawks to a 2-1 win over Penn State in the title game; she scored five of Iowa's six goals in the tournament.

Rookie of the Week: Kelsey Cutchins, James Madison

James Madison notched one of the biggest upsets of the season with a 1-0 win over Old Dominion in the CAA Championship match. Cutchins made 14 saves in the title game and did not allow a goal in the tournament, making seven saves in the 1-0 win over Hofstra the day before.

Bloskey's goal in the title game returned the PSAC Championship to the Huskies as Bloom kept alive their undefeated season with a win over PSAC rival Shippensburg.

Rookie of the Week: Karen Robinson, Keene State

Robinson helped the Owls to the NCAA Tournament with a win in the Little East Championship. She scored the game-winner in the semifinal game over Worcester State and then had a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win in the title game over UMass-Dartmouth.

Division I - Charlia Warner, Hofstra

Warner scored twice and added an assist in the Pride's 4-1 win over James Madison, and then scored four goals in the 4-1 win over Virginia Commonwealth to help Hofstra earn the No. 3 seed in the CAA Championships.

Rookie of the Week: Rachel Chamberlain, Providence

Chamberlain was key in the Friars' two wins over the week. She backstopped Providence to a shutout over instate rival Rhode Island and then had four saves in a 2-1 victory over top-10 opponent Connecticut.

Rookie of the Week: Michelle Kelly, Tufts

The Jumbos had a phenomenal 3-0 week that started with their securing a home game in the NESCAC tournament, and then advanced to the semifinals by winning that game at home. Kelly notched all three game-winners on the week, starting with the first goal in her hat trick against Endicott before scoring the opener against Connecticut College. Her goal against Trinity broke a 1-1 tie and sent the Jumbos to the NESCAC semis.

Yuhasz  posted back-to-back shutouts last week, starting with a 2-0 win over in-state rival Central Michigan before  holding Indiana off the scoreboard with a 1-0 upset of the Hoosiers.

Rookie of the Week: Nellie Poulin, Providence

Providence went 2-0 last week, starting with an overtime win over cross-town rival Brown, thanks to Poulin's game-winner in the extra session. Four days later the Friars won a key BIG EAST game as Poulin scored a goal in the triumph over then-No. 20 Villanova.

Schuette helped guide the Thoroughbreds into the Liberty League semifinals as Skidmore won both "must-win" games this week. She assisted on the game-winner as the T-breds upset William Smith 1-0 and then scored the goal in overtime against Rochester.

Rookie of the Week: Kelly Eash, Widener

Eash scored twice as the Pioneers shocked No. 2 Messiah 4-0 in a key conference game. It was Widener's first win over a ranked team since 2001 but more importantly placed Widener into a tie with Messiah for the fourth and final spot in the conference championships.

O'Donnell led the Tar Heels to a pair of shutouts on the weekend, including a 4-0 upset of Boston College on the road before holding Yale off the scoreboard with a 6-0 victory.

Bain scored both goals in a 2-1 win over CAA opponent Towson before notching a pair of goals in a minute, two of her hat trick, to break open a close game in a 4-1 win over William & Mary.

Crandall scored two goals in the win over Iowa and added two assists in the win over Michigan as the Demon Deacons started the season with a pair of top-10 wins.

Rookie of the Week: Traci Ragukas, Virginia

Ragukas scored the go-ahead goal in the first half and added a key insurance goal seconds into the second half as the Cavaliers rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Hoosiers 3-2.

Division I -

Player of the Year - Paula Infante, Maryland

Infante was a crucial part of the return of the Terps to the top of the field hockey world, leading Maryland from the backfield with solid defense and a deft scoring touch that came at just the right time in so many games. The ACC Defensive Player of the Year demonstrated her scoring prowess both in the field of play and on short corners.

Rookie of the Year - Christine Suggs, Wake Forest

Suggs led the Demon Deacons in scoring in 2005 and ranked in the top-15 nationally. She was a crucial part of the Wake Forest team that was ranked #1 throughout the entire regular season and helped the Demon Deacons win the ACC regular season title.

Coach of the Year - Joanie Q. Milhous, Villanova

Milhous led the Wildcats to their best season in history, earning their first-ever national ranking and their first-ever top seed in the BIG EAST field hockey tournament. Milhous coached the BIG EAST Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in 2005 and directed the Huskies to two wins over ranked teams.

Player of the Year - Joanna DaLuze, UMass-Lowell

DaLuze scored the championship-winning goal for the River Hawks, a fitting end to the season for a player who helped her team not only earn the NE-10 regular season title but also had the River Hawks ranked among the top teams all year long. DaLuze

Rookie of the Year - Jamie Vanartsdalen, Bloomsburg

Vanartsdalen was a major offensive force for the Huskies in her first year of collegiate field hockey, helping Bloomsburg rank in the top three all season long while leading the team in scoring. Bloom finished second in the PSAC regular season and was the PSAC runner-up and the national runner-up.

Coach of the Year - Bertie Landes, Shippensburg

Landes was the architect of a Ship team that earned their second-ever #1 ranking and their first-ever PSAC title. The Lady Raiders had their first 20-game season and were the #1 seed in the south in the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history, a year after not advancing to the semifinals.

Division III -

Player of the Year - Taryn King, Bowdoin

King was an integral part of the Polar Bears' phenomenal season in 2005, playing on both sides of the ball and helping Bowdoin to rank second in the nation in margin of victory. She ranked second on the team in scoring and also helped Bowdoin forge the stingiest defense in the nation, allowing only 10 goals all season long.

Rookie of the Year - Meighan McGowan, Williams

McGowan went on an offensive tear in her first season as a collegiate hockey player, leading the in scoring and helping them to a top-15 ranking nationally and a berth in the NESCAC finals as well as the second round of the NCAA tournament. She earned first-team All-NESCAC honors and was a key reason the Ephs ranked in the top-10 nationally in scoring.

Coach of the Year - Kully Hagerman, Babson

Hagerman led the Beavers to an incredible turnaround season, notching a number of firsts in school history, including their first-ever conference title, top-15 ranking, NCAA berth and NCAA win. Babson ranked fourth in the nation in scoring offense and seventh nationally in margin.

Schrott notched a hat trick to lead the Hoosiers into the second round of the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history.

Rookie of the Week: Lauren Aird, Connecticut

With the Huskies facing a two-goal deficit in the second half against Boston College, Aird scored twice in succession to tie the game, a game UConn won in overtime. The next day she scored the game-tying goal in the second half against eventual winner Duke.

Division II - Post season honors released today

 

Division III - Taryn King, Bowdoin

King led the Polar Bears to a pair of top-10 wins in the NCAA tournament as Bowdoin advanced to the NCAA semifinals for the first time in school history. The Polar Bears outscored their opponents, #5 TCNJ and #9 Springfield by a combined 7-0, with King contributing a goal and an assist while allowing the two opponents only 20 total shots in the two games.

Rookie of the Week: Kait Sutherland, Ursinus

Sutherland scored a goal and added an assists as the Bears advanced to the NCAA semifinals for the first time in school history with a 2-1 win over Cortland. She notched the assist on the fifth goal as the Bears hung on for a 5-4 win over Williams the previous day.

Hillman led the fourth-seeded Wolverines to a repeat Big 10 field hockey title with solid play in the backfield.

Rowe notched three goals on the weekend, and each one of them was bigger than the one before it. She tallied the game-tying and game-winning goals in the semifinal win over Duke before blasting home the championship-winning goal against Wake Forest.

Division I - Jessica Javelet, Louisville

Javelet powered the Cardinals to a pair of important wins this week, starting with notching the overtime game-winner against Michigan. Against Iowa, she scored two goals and added an assist to help the Cards rally from down 0-1 to a 3-1 lead in a game they went on to win 5-2.

Rookie of the Week: Carissa Eye, Sacred Heart

Eye scored both goals in the 2-1 win over Quinnipiac and then took the shot that drew a penalty stroke in the championship game. SHU converted the stroke and won the NEC title 1-0.

Rookie of the Week: Reid Berrien, Middlebury

Berrien was an integral part of the Midd's success this week as they went 3-0, including a NESCAC quarterfinal win. Berrien started the week with a hat trick against RPI. She scored both goals in the overtime win over Trinity, and then scored twice in the 3-0 win over Bates in the NESCAC quarterfinals. Berrien scored seven of Middlebury's nine goals on the week.

Sensenig helped the Lady Monarchs clinch the CAA regular season title with a pair of wins on the road, including a 3-1 come-from-behind victory over #18 Northeastern. Sensenig scored twice, including the game-winner, and then added an insurance goal. Against Hofstra, Sensenig assisted on the game-winner as the ODU went 2-0 on the week.

Rookie of the Week: Arlette Westdorp, Albany

Westdorp assisted on both goals as the Great Danes upset Boston University 2-1.

Division II - Suzanne Cornelissen, IUP

Cornelissen helped the Indians defeat #1 Shippensburg, #2 Bloomsburg, and #4 Kutztown in succession this week in a remarkable week for IUP. She opened the week with both goals against Kutztown and then closed the week with the second goal in a 2-1 upset of Shippensburg. The Indians won all three conference games by identical scores of 2-1.

Rookie of the Week: Kelley Healey, Kutztown

Healey helped the Golden Bears go 3-1 on the week, securing fourth in the PSAC standings. She notched a hat trick against Millersville and added two goals in a key game against East Stroudsburg. Healey also had one goal in the win over Slippery Rock.

Brox notched the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Ohio Wesleyan in a key NCAC game. She also added 2 goals in a win over Earlham as the Yeowomen went 2-0 on the week, both wins coming in conference games.

Exner had a huge week in the cage for the Hoosiers, notching double-digits in saves against a pair of top-20 teams. Indiana defeated Louisville to open the week behind Exner's 10 saves, and later in the week she had a career-high 16 saves to help the Hoosiers to the 2-1 victory.

Rookie of the Week: Bob Dirks, Boston College

Dirks started the week with a hat trick against Brown before assisting on the opening goal in the upset of Northeastern. She closed the week with a goal and an assist in the win over Vermont.

Rookie of the Week: Susan Hearn, Catawba

Hearn scored the final three goals of the game to rally Catawba from down 3-1 to a 4-3 victory over Philadelphia. .

Rookie of the Week: Jaimie Macari, Mount Holyoke

Macari started the week with the overtime game-winner against WPI in a key conference win before notching two goals against Conn. Two days later she scored twice as the Lyons defeated MIT 3-2 in another conference matchup.

Masson helped contain one of the nation's highest-scoring offenses as the Terrapins defeated Duke 2-0 on the road. Masson had a career-high 14 saves as Maryland held the Blue Devils off the board for the first time this year.

Rookie of the Week: Britt van Pelt, Kent State

Van Pelt was instrumental in helping the Golden Flashes notch two wins over the weekend and jump back into the thick of the MAC race. She started the week with two goals and an assist over Central Michigan before scoring all three goals, including the overtime game-winner, in the upset of Ohio.

Vanartsdalen scored three goals and added an assist to help the Huskies go 3-0 on the week. She scored the game-winner against Kutztown to start the week, and then added two goals in the win over Slippery Rock before assisting on the game-winning goal in overtime against Bellarmine.

Fragapane helped the Buckeyes go 3-0 on the week, including 2-0 in the Big 10 with a pair of upsets over Michigan and Iowa. She started the week with a goal against Ball State, and then had four goals in the win over U-M and then the first goal of the game in the win over Iowa, giving OSU a lead they would not relinquish.

Rookie of the Week: Rachelle Coetzee, Ohio

Coetzee was a part of all four goals in the Bobcats' win over Miami in a key MAC game, one day after she assisted her sister in Ohio's opening conference game, a win over Ball State.

Murphy notched two game-winners this week in league play as the Minutewomen went 3-0. She was a part of both goals in a 2-1 win over UNH and then notched the game-winner in overtime against Temple.

Division III - Kelli Johnson, Cortland

Johnson was involved with all of Cortland's goals this week, assisting in all three goals as the Red Dragons beat Nazareth 3-0, notching a hat trick and adding two assists in the 5-0 win over Ithaca, and then scoring a goal and assisting on another as Cortland defeated #9 Springfield 3-2. Johnson fired a shot that was saved by the Springfield keeper, but the rebound was put back in the cage by a teammate. While it is not an assist, she was involved with the play, giving her a hand in all 11 goals this week.

Rookie of the Week: Maria Ramoundos, Salisbury

Ramoundos helped the Sea Gulls to a 2-1 upset of top-ranked Messiah as Salisbury with an 11-save performance on turf. Messiah came into the game as the top-ranked offense in the nation at 6.14 goals per game, but Ramoundos turned away nine shots in the decisive second half as Messiah had 11 shots in the stanza.

Parlton had a pair of goals in regulation to help the Huskies get into overtime against Shippensburg, which BU won in strokes. She had the game-winner against East Stroudsburg to keep Bloom undefeated.

Rookie of the Week: Dani Ryder, Stonehill

Ryder pitched a shutout in both of her games last week, helping the Chieftains go 2-0 on the week and in league play.

Simon was a part of 7 of the 8 Crimson Eagles' goals this week, as PBU went 3-0. She scored twice and assisted on the third as PBU defeated Arcadia 3-1, and then had two assists as the Eagles won in overtime over Neumann 2-1, and had both goals in regulation in the 3-2 overtime win over Kean.

Rookie of the Week: Christina Woody, Hood

Woody had two game-winners this week, including an overtime goal against Wilson and then the only goal against Wells as the Blazers went 3-0, including 2-0 in the AWCC.

Division I - Diana Nelson, Northeastern

Nelson made six saves in both of the Huskies' wins this week, including a come-from-behind win over Princeton in which she made two spectacular saves in the final six minutes, and an overtime win over Penn State.

Rookie of the Week: Carlot Verloop, Virginia Commonwealth

Verloop scored five goals on the week, including a hat trick against Rutgers and a pair of goals against Penn.

Division II - Jackie Driscoll, UMass-Lowell

Driscoll had an assist and scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the River Hawks upset Bentley in a matchup of the last two NE-10 tournament champions, three days after she scored a pair of goals in a 4-3 win over Saint Michael's.

Rookie of the Week: Hannah Wolfe, Saint Michael's

Wolfe's goal with just under six minutes to play helped the Purple Knights upset Bryant, the defending NE-10 regular season champions.

Division III - Danae Chambers, Messiah

Chambers opened the week by setting the all-time scoring record at Messiah with two goals and one assist against Seton Hill, and then exploded for a two-goal, four-assist performance against William Smith to help Messiah open with a pair of wins.

Rookie of the Week: Jennifer Tanis, Montclair State

Tanis scored consecutive goals to help the Red Hawks erase an early deficit and defeat Washington College 3-2.

Players of the Week

August 30, 2004

Division I - Kelsey Keeran, North Carolina

Keeran helped the Tar Heels go 2-0 to start the season, notching victories over Big 10 foes Michigan (3-2) and Iowa (5-0). Keeran had a goal and an assist against Michigan, scoring in the 45th minute to tie the game and then assisting in the final minute of regulation for the win. Keeran added two goals against Iowa.

Rookie of the Week: Kristin Van Rooij, Rutgers

Van Rooij helped the Scarlet Knights shut out Georgetown on Saturday before recording 13 saves, with 8 in the second half, to stake Rutgers to a 2-0 record to start 2004.
