Division I -
National Player of the Year - Katie O'Donnell, Maryland
O'Donnell had another phenomenal year for the
Terrapins, helping her team advance to the final game for a second
consecutive year while facing one of the nation's toughest schedules.
The junior was Maryland's top playmaker and led
the nation in scoring while helping her team lead the nation in RPI.
Defensive MVP - Emma Thomas, Maryland
Thomas led the Terrapins to a second consecutive trip to the national
championship game,
helping Maryland lead the nation in RPI against one of the nation's
toughest schedules
while ranking in the top-five in scoring defense.
Offensive MVP - O'Donnell, Maryland
Rookie of
the Year - Kelsey
Kolojejchick, North Carolina
Kolojejchick helped the Tar Heels return to the summit
of the NCAA, playing strong at both ends of the field while leading her
team to a national title. She ranked among the team leaders in scoring
and was a key part of a midfield that helped lead the nation in scoring
defense.
Coach of the
Year - Carol
Miller, Delaware
Miller engineered one of the great turnarounds in field
hockey history, turning in a 14-6 record and a CAA title, along with a
berth in the NCAA Tournament, after going 3-15 in 2008.

Division II -
National Player of the Year - Chelsea Due, Bloomsburg
Due was a crucial part of the Huskies' national
championship in 2009. Facing the nation's second-toughest schedule,
Bloomsburg put together a 22-1 campaign that saw the team win the PSAC
title and the NCAA title. The PSAC West Athlete of the Year, Due ranked
fifth on the team in scoring while helping the Huskies lead the nation
in scoring defense.
Defensive MVP - Stephanie Kott, Stonehill
Kott anchored one of the top defenses in the nation, helping the
Skyhawks earn the top seed in the north region in the NCAA tournament,
the top seed in the NE-10 tournament, and a 17-5 overall record that
included a 10-game win streak. Stonehill averaged just over one goal
per game while facing a top-10 schedule.
Offensive MVP - Amanda Riley, Bloomsburg
Riley picked up for the Huskies in 2009 after a big
chunk of the offense had departed. She led the nation in scoring,
including two goals in the NCAA title game as Bloomsburg's seniors went
four-for-four.
Rookie of
the Year - April
Daugherty, Merrimack
Daugherty was a big part of the remarkable turnaround
for the Warriors in 2009, helping Merrimack qualify for the NE-10
tournament--as the four seed, no less. She led the nation in assists as
the Warriors ranked fourth in the nation in scoring.
Coach of the
Year - Anne
Rounce, Merrimack
Rounce engineered one of the top comebacks of the 2009
season as the Warriors turned a 4-15 team into a 13-8 season and a
berth in the NE-10 tournament.

National Player of the Year - Julie Barton, Messiah
<>Barton helped the Falcons return to the NCAA final game
and an undefeated regular season while facing the nation's toughest
schedule. Her playmaking in the midfield was a key part to Messiah's
one-loss season as the Commonwealth Player of the Year helped the
Falcons to a league title and a number-one ranking throughout the
season.
Defensive MVP - Margie Scholtes, Tufts
Scholtes played a significant role for the Jumbos again in 2009,
helping Tufts to the NCAA semifinals while facing a top-10 schedule.
The NESCAC champions led the nation in scoring defense thanks to
Scholtes.

Offensive MVP - Megan Yoder, Ursinus
Yoder led the nation in scoring and helped the Bears
return to the NCAA semifinals while earning Centennial Conference
Player of the Year honors.
Rookie of
the Year - Kimberly
Barker, MIT
Barker was a key part of the Engineers' conference
title and the berth to the NCAA tournament. The rookie led
the team in goals and points and was a key factor MIT tripled their win
total from 2008.
Coach of the
Year - Cheryl
Silva, MIT
Silva engineered MIT's first conference title and the
accompanying berth into the NCAA tournament, guiding a turnaround from
a 6-13 season
to an 18-5 record that ranked among the nation's best.
